Beating Holiday Weight Gain
The holiday season is here and this is the time of year many of us tend to put on the pounds and then have to figure out how to lose one month’s worth of fun by swimsuit season - not to mention get healthy.
Here is a collection of tips that will hopefully help you beat the holiday weight gain :
Drink a Big Glass of Water Before You Hit the Buffet Table.
This is an oldie but goodie and it really works. You can drop a squeeze of lemon in it to give it a little taste but skip the sugar and more lemon flavor because then you’re drinking lemonade and well, that defeats the purpose…
Don’t Pile Up Your Plate
I have a really good friend, and she has her own dieting rule during the holidays. She allows herself ONE plate of food at gatherings. Now this chick can pile a plate higher than anyone I have ever seen in my life.
If you’ve ever seen corn on the cob balacing on a dinner roll atop a bunch of sausage rolls, you may seen my friend. This would seem to be commonsense but it’s easy to throw good knowledge to the wind when you can’t decide between calorie-laden pumpkin pie, coconut cream pie and angelfood cake with strawberries … You don’t have to deprive yourself, just don’t get a slice of all three and then wonder why your pants got so tight. Go for the least fat/calorie option you can and still enjoy the enjoy (in this case - go for the angelfood cake!).
Bring Good Foods to Munch
If you’re attending a holiday gathering where everyone is supposed to bring a dish. Bring something yummy yet healthy so you can have a nice, fat serving yourself and still not fall into the trap of holiday weight gain. Ideas from Dr. Gabe Mirkin’s awesome book, “Fat Free, Flavor Full” include vegetable curry, tamale pie, chili, seafood paella or a huge salad or opt for the tried and true cut-up veggie tray.

Acai Berry has caused a lot of confusion with people. They aren’t anything new, they’ve been used for hundreds of years as an appetite suppressant as well as a “rejuvenator” in Brazil. It is now being exported and used in the US like it’s the next big thing but in reality it’s been available for a long time. However it DOES work for suppressing your appetite and the added antioxidant action (the rejuvenation) in the acai berries will leave your skin looking wonderful. This supplement is in one little pill and it will not cause jitteriness or anything else. You simply won’t feel very hungry. This is GREAT if you’re going to a holiday gathering where you might be tempted to seriously binge on the dessert table. Find out more about Acai Berry.
Caralluma Burn
Caralluma is an Indian plant that is rapidly coming up in the ranks of popularity as an appetite suppressant. If you want just an appetite suppressant and you don’t want anything else - this is exactly what you need. Made from the fiberous caralluma plant, this plant extract will suppress your hunger mode and you won’t have a problem pushing away from the table or turning down that fat-laden dessert serving. It has zero side effects, no caffiene and will not make you jittery, much like acai berries, it simply takes away your hunger and you won’t want to eat for 3-4 hours after taking a Caralluma. Lipo - 6 - My Personal Fat Fighter
This is my personal favorite. If you want to boost your metabolism, burn fat and have energy to spare with ZERO caffiene creepies or jittery nerves - you will absolutely love Lipo-6. In addition to a strong thermetic (fat burner) effect - this will also suppress your appetite.
It’s easy to take, you take 2 gel caps a day and let Lipo-6 do its thing. I tried Lipo-6 last year right before the holiday season, knocked off the 10 remaining pounds of baby weight I had been completely unable to lose and came out of the holidays another 10 pounds lighters at my pre-baby weight (3 children ago). I SWEAR by this stuff and my friends that I have recommended it to have told me it rocked for them too.
